ACTION RED ALERT: TIME TO END CITIZENS UNITED - PETITIONS FIRST, ACTIONS NEXT

Hello All:

I don't know if you're receiving these petitions, but I certainly am - and they're coming three and four times a day.  So I might as well share the wealth - especially since the goal is to get 50,000+ signatures.  What's all the hue and cry?  The fact that the Supreme Court had the audacity, temerity and gall to equate corporations as being the same as individuals and human beings, it's been a feeding frenzy in the vote influencing game - and a scourge called Citizens United has been actively busy - given the carte blanche - wrecking democracy.  Apparently America can be bought and sold after all, right from under the citizens who used their blood sweat and tears to build it.

Apparently "one man/one vote" only applies if you're worth less than $50 million dollars - if you're worth more than that you can buy all the votes you want.  Citizens United is perhaps one of the most egregious attacks upon democracy by a judicial body that is supposed to protect the rights of their citizenry - well of course gutting the Voting Rights nearly tops it.  Hey!  Wait a minute - has some body invaded our country and kidnapped the members of the supreme court and replaced them with racist, subversive aliens?    Did someone sneak in and change the Constitution of the US while we weren't looking?  Are we being punked?? and don't know it? 

Where did all this madness come from all of a sudden? Why has the supreme court and the repuglycons unleashed their version of "by any means necessary" on the US and its citizens? 

It can't possibly still be because the most successful president of the US continues to be successful despite their efforts to undermine him - nah!  No one could be that dumb.  Don't they know that trying to destroy what he does, or block his efforts, also hurts the very constituents they purport to serve?  Guess not -
I have included different versions of the petition - please sign, share and send.

I, frankly, am waiting for Americans to get tired of doing things by remote control - ie. petitions and news articles - and show up on the front steps of Congress and the supreme court and demand to have their country back.  Instead of 50 thousand signatures - how about 50 thousand or move people swarming the supreme court and Congress demanding the immediate overturning of Citizens United, or nobody goes home!!

This is the year we have to get it right regardless of who's in the majority - Repuglycons or Democrats - in the interest of making that happen, there are several key petitions that are being circulated that are pivotal to the overturn of egregious transgressions over the rights of US Citizens.  One of those is to overturn the CITIZENS UNITED law enacted by the "subprime court"   -  (they stopped being "supreme" a long time ago).

Please read and sign the petition - pass it on to your friends and relatives and associates - this is where WE THE PEOPLE can make our voices heard.

EMERGENCY EVENT ALERT: PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY CONFERENCE CALL TODAY - BE IN IT!!

2014, as I keep reiterating, is a pivotal year - not one to be viewed from the sidelines, or a wait and see posture; but one where we have to be involved up to our hair lines; especially if we want to see all the things we worked so hard for and voted for to bear fruit.  

I'm reposting this from PFAW = PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY - they ae hosting a call in today for an upcoming senate briefing to get Citizens United Repealed.  For those of you who may be unfamiliar with that little gem that was imposed upon us by the Subprime Court - it's the one that says that corporations are the same as human beings, and therefore can donate as much money as they want to a political campaign.  
It's the same subprime court that has tried to reverse our right as citizens to vote; and also gave major corporations the right to imminent domain regardless of what the purpose of building the property was, without your right to recourse, or even equitable compensation.

PFAW has gathered 422,000 signatures thus far - which is ridiculous when you consider how many people the Citizens United law has harmed - that should be ten times the amount. 

I highly recommend - urge - that you be a part of the call this afternoon, and the cause going forward.  

One thing about it - if we do what we're supposed to do with voter registration, petitions, campaigning, and keeping our neighbors and each other informed, in the loop, involved and on the case, we will have major victories on our hands all over the US; we definitely won't be bored, and we can begin to breathe a sigh of relief that President Obama now has the majority and the backing he needs to go forward in helping restabilize this country - therefore us - individually and collectively.
