Michelle Obama for Tom Wolf as next Governor of Pennsylvania

Hello All:

You may notice some differences in my Blog over the next few weeks  - where possible, I will be allowing political candidates that I support to share the landscape with other relevant ECLECTICALLY BLACK NEWS and information.

Pennsylvania went overwhelmingly for President Obama in 2012 - despite all the conjecture about it being a "battle ground state."  Now it's time to help make it official by electing TOM WOLF as next governor of Pennsylvania - giving Philly the moxy it needs to get out from under some pretty oppressive oppositional policies that has seen the forced closing of 30 schools; teachers robbed of their insurance; students robbed of the right to a positive educational environment, and so many more issues.  

Below is a card endorsing Tom Wolf, who is wholeheartedly supported by the First Lady (and the President).  If you are in the Philly/PENNA area, make sure you sign it.  If you've not, but have relatives or friends who are, make sure they sign it.  We cannot allow territorial differences to prevent us from winning across the board.

Without the important partnership between the governor and the mayor of the fifth largest city in the US, we will continue to face stagnation - of course Mayor Nutter is doing all he can to prevent that  from being the situation; but things work more smoothly if they are working in concert, as opposed to Nutter always having to operate from damage control. 

Make yourselves a committee of one to get out the vote  - help those who have no transportation get to the polls - contact your fellow church members.  This is serious.

Oh, yes - also SIGN THE CARD and Pass it on.

We have been watching with horror, disgust, anger as the Repuglycons and Teabaggers appear to be launching more and more negatives against President Barack Obama.  The latest of which, of course, is Boehner's lawsuit against the President for helping the people of America have comprehensive health care.

Facebook has been full of the insanities on the part of the Repuglycons - we've laughed at the cartoons, and the idiotic statements by Palin, Cruz, Bachmann, and those of their ilk.  But now it's gotten out of hand, and the animals are threatening to take over the zoo.

It's time for Americans - Black Americans, especially - but all Americans to stand up and say this far and no more.

  My Fellow Americans - we have a big role to play in how our country should be run. We made our choice clear when we elected President Obama.  It appears the Modus Operandii of the Republican party is to do anything other than what Americans want done. It is clear by their actions that they will do nothing positive to benefit Americans - they have, thus far done nothing to benefit Americans, and will continue to undermine anyone who tries to do anything that benefits Americans.  They did the same thing to President Bill Clinton, as well.
  
  We should, by now, recognize that it's not what the Repuglycons want, it's what we, the people want.  And if we are going to get that message across, we not only have to sign this petition showing our support for President Obama, but we have to make our voices heard through OUR VOTES.  We cannot just sit on the sides and grumble, gripe, Tweet, post on Facebook.  We now have to show up and show out, and show the Repuglycons the door.
  
  This country is built on democratic rules - not an oligarchy. We have an equal stake in this country and deserve life, love, liberty, health, happiness, decent affordable homes, a good education, and peace.  This is what President Obama stands for, and has consistently stood for since entering the White House.

AUGUST 9 MIDTERM PRIMARY COMING UP - BE PREPARED

These little primaries across the US, will make the difference between who we have in office in Congress and other key positions in the fall; so please don't sleep them.

I just received this solicitation about the AUGUST 9, 2014 PRIMARY IN HAWAII:

The stakes are high. Schatz's opponent in the Democratic primary for the Hawai'i Senate seat, Colleen Hanabusa, voted for the Simpson-Bowles plan that would have cut Social Security benefits. Hanabusa has been desperately trying to evade responsibility for her vote to cut Social Security and Medicare. Schatz then pulled out his trump card. He read out a letter the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare wrote to her, pleading with her to vote against the Simpson-Bowles plan that would have cut benefits and raised the retirement age. The facts are clear -- Hanabusa can't be trusted to protect Social Security.
Sen. Brian Schatz is fighting to expand Social Security and raise the minimum wage. He will combat inequality with progressive leadership. We don't need another corporate Democrat who folds on the issues that matter most. Let's make sure we keep Brian Schatz in the Senate for Hawai'i and for our families.

I'm sending my contribution in, and I'm also spreading the word so that the rest of us don't sit idly by and think that because it's not in our district, it doesn't matter.  We have to unite across the board, across the US.  This MIDTERM ELECTION is the last chance we have to make a concrete difference in this country, our lives, our economy, our educational system.  You see the vultures under bonehead Boehner are circling trying to distract us with bogus law suits.  We have to be proactive in our reactions.
