AUGUST 9 MIDTERM PRIMARY COMING UP - BE PREPARED

These little primaries across the US, will make the difference between who we have in office in Congress and other key positions in the fall; so please don't sleep them.

We have just two weeks left to protect Social Security from a corporate Democrat -- by re-electing progressive hero Brian Schatz to the Senate.
The stakes are high. Schatz's opponent in the Democratic primary for the Hawai'i Senate seat, Colleen Hanabusa, voted for the Simpson-Bowles plan that would have cut Social Security benefits. Hanabusa has been desperately trying to evade responsibility for her vote to cut Social Security and Medicare. At a recent debate, Schatz looked directly at Hanabusa and asked if she regretted her vote for the Simpson-Bowles plan to cut Social Security. She tried to say her vote wouldn't have cut benefits or raise the retirement age.

Schatz then pulled out his trump card. He read out a letter the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare wrote to her, pleading with her to vote against the Simpson-Bowles plan that would have cut benefits and raised the retirement age. The facts are clear -- Hanabusa can't be trusted to protect Social Security.
Sen. Brian Schatz is fighting to expand Social Security and raise the minimum wage. He will combat inequality with progressive leadership. We don't need another corporate Democrat who folds on the issues that matter most. Let's make sure we keep Brian Schatz in the Senate for Hawai'i and for our families.

I'm sending my contribution in, and I'm also spreading the word so that the rest of us don't sit idly by and think that because it's not in our district, it doesn't matter.  We have to unite across the board, across the US.  This MIDTERM ELECTION is the last chance we have to make a concrete difference in this country, our lives, our economy, our educational system.  You see the vultures under bonehead Boehner are circling trying to distract us with bogus law suits.  We have to be proactive in our reactions.
