Hello All:

Most of my friends know that the great comedian, activist, philosopher,  Dick Gregory,  was a personal  friend and hero of mine - as well as so many others of us.  He dedicated his life to making sure we knew what was happening, and how to use our bold intelligence to deal with the onslaught of ignorance designed to keep us subjugated to meanstream media brainwashing.

Dr.Efaye Williams started a radio show WAKE UP & STAY WOKE in honor of his memory and accomplishments.

On Wednesday, October 12, in honor of his 90th Birthday Anniversary, she is hosting a 90TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY REMEMBRANCE

Hello All:

HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH!! 

It's Wednesday, so it must be time for WAKE UP & STAY WOKE with Dr. EFAYE WILLIAMS - so if you haven't marked your calendar for the rest of the year, you really should - and put it on you Google Calendar as well - so you won't miss any of the dynamic, history making guests she will be featuring. 

          

Before we start, however, I just want to mention two great people who have made history and are no longer with us:  Take a moment of prayer and reverence as we of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. mourn the passing of our beloved National President Cheryl A. Hickmon, whose homegoing ceremony was held in Connecticut Friday, February 4, with a pantheon of Former National Presidents, and over 16,000 loving Sorors watching virtually.  She was lovingly called home to be with her predecessors, Dr. Dorothy I. Height, Mary McLeod Bethune, Ruby Dee, Aretha Franklin, and so many more Sorors who have made their contribution to the world and now their righteous place in Black History.

And I must also share the sad news that Actor, Activist, Scholar, 

Entrepreneur, and Developer, Cliff Frazier

 

made his transition.  This one really hurts my heart.  Cliff and i were longtime friends - and I admired him greatly.  His transition has left a major hole in the heavy hitters of New York - the world.  To me he was the exemplar of what is known as a Fine Black Man (FBM) - mentally, spiritually, emotionally - a gentle heart and a gentle brother who never knew the meaning of the word no, or "can't" - and therefore did whatever he decided to put his mind to! The Dwyer Warehouse was transformed into the Dwyer Culture Center by Cliff Frazier - and was the first combination Cultural Center/Condominium Development of its kind in Harlem, USA.  Cliff is a major contributor to Black History.   If you're not familiar with this unsung Black hero, Google him - you'll be amazed and grateful. 

Just remember, everyday is Black History - somewhere in the world, a Black man or woman is doing something great - keep your eyes and ears open - it could very well be you!!
