SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP THE SUPREME COURT FROM DESTROYING BLACK VOTING RIGHTS

Hello All:

We are in the 50th anniversary year of the voting rights act being passed by President Lyndon Baines Johnson, and simultaneously dealing with a feckless subprime court that has been instrumental in trying to gut it and render it useless.

Somehow or other it appears as though we think this is going to be rectified by some mysterious, heroic "others" who are going to come to our rescue, riding in or a horse or a Harley like some kind of comic book super hero and save us from the big bad racists who continue to try to undermine our progress.  Somehow or other we appear to believe that now these things can be handled via remote control and other non-action actions, while we sit back and look cerebral, cool and disgusted.

Well, guess what - we got the first bill passed through hands on activities and in your fact protocols - and that's exactly what we have to do this time around as well. 

Power concedes nothing without a struggle - it never has and it never will.  Yes we can post petitions and get them signed - in fact that's an excellent idea.  But once we've submitted our petition, it's time to take action; stand toe to toe, nose to nose, face to face; eyeball to eyeball - staring them down and letting them know that we're mad as hell and we're not going to take their b.s.  anymore!!! - And we're moving forward with what we know and what we have, as well as inventing those things that need to be brought to bear to dismantle their system.

That said,  I'm forwarding a copy of a petition that is being circulated so that you may copy it, sign it, forward a blank to one or several of your friends.  It's high time we registered in on this bit of chicanery and let them know that we aren't going to take this garbage any more.  

And make no mistake about it - it is definitely our right to vote, but it is also our RESPONSIBILITY TO VOTE AS WELL - and let no one convince us that this is optional or not important.  If it wasn't they wouldn't be working so hard to try and usurp it and destroy our capacity to participate and have a say in who runs this country.  Protect your rights - sign up and show up.

Well, we're getting down to the wire - and my emails (all five of them) have been inundated with messages from all over the candidates throughout the US, as well as locally.  But I came across something that so defines the campaign and the struggle between the greedy fat cats of the repuglycon party and the Democratic party that I had to share it - I hope the video comes through so you'll get as much  kick and an inspiration out of this as I did.

I think we can come up with some really great concepts to piggy back off of in order to get the rest of the fence sitters on board vis a vis the other republycon incumbents who are clogging up the democratic process, don't you?  What say you HipHop artists out there?  Can you write something without using profanity or the "b" or "n" words to engage your peers?  You have three weeks and counting.

MITCH MCCONNEL AND THE REPUGLYCANS BLOCK STUDENT LOAN BILL AGAIN!!!

Did you vote yet?  Do you know who's working for you and who's working against you?  Look at the track records of the Repuglycons - those in DC and in your home state, city, or county?  Are you better or worse off because of them?  Got unemployment insurance?  Better yet, got a job?  And for those of you who are either struggling to put your children through college, or are in college yourself, how's that working for you?  If you're a veteran, got benefits?  

Then you'd better make sure that when you go to the polls, no matter where you live that you pull the lever that is going to eradicate the republicans and teabaggers from your lives now and forever.  
This is 2014 - this is it. Primaries are where the rubber meets the road; General election is the final call.  Don't get caught with the same old dummies in the DC that have blocked your good and your benefit for the last four years.
If you're not registered, do so; if your neighbor's not registered, give him or her a card, have them fill it out and then mail it for them; got an 18 year old or one who'll be turning 18 by Nov. 4; get them registered as well - give them a voter registration card with their birthday card. 
No time to vacillate - it's on!! 
Time to take out the trash!!

Today Mitch McConnell delivered yet another blow to working families and students by blocking legislation that would ease the burden of student loan debt. McConnell is so out of touch with the lives of real people that he dismissed legislation that would allow millions to refinance their student loans at a lower rate as a "talking point."
