ICYMI: Please Contribute to AFRICOM'S GIVING TUESDAY November 30, 2021

By Gloria DULAN-Wilson

Hello All:

Hope all is well with you all.  I am sharing this important message with you from AFRICOM-PHILLY.ORG in reference to our own form of GIVING TUESDAY!
Now more than ever, Black people here and on the continent have to band together.

I heard with gread disdain and anger, the president's ban on People from SOUTH AFRICA to enter the United States - when most of the carriers of Covid are from European/caucasoid communities.  In the interim, I'm also cognizant of the boost in the favor to Afghanistan refugees, while Haitian and others who likewise deserve asylum and assistance are being ignored, or denied altogether.  This means that if anything is going to be done for us, it has to be done by us - joined together, and with a focus on our own self sufficiency - not waiting or depending on the approval or disapproval of others.

So I am sharing this with you from brother Eric Edi of AFRICOM - It is essential that you pitch in and give what you can on GIVING TUESDAYS -
The details are below.

GDW EMERGENCY EVENT ALERT EXTRA - FREE IMMIGRATION LEGAL CLINIC IN PHILLY TODAY - FEB 25 AT 3:00

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson
-->

Hello All:

With so much roiling around in the media and with Immigration about who is and who is not "legal" in the US, since T-Rump has gotten a stranglehold on America, it has become patently clear that the targeted people who have been living and working peacefully side by side with us for decades are now under serious threat.

Philadelphia has long been a sanctuary city, as has New York City and other progressive communities.  In an effort to ensure that those targeted by these heinous and egregious measures are protected and know their rights, a free legal clinic is being presented this afternoon, sponsored by the Haitian Coalition of Philadelphia and AFRICOM - Coalition of African Communities.

I apologize that I did not receive this in a timely manner, but hope that those who see this will pass it on to those who need assistance.  Don't sit on it - share it - the only way to ensure that we are all safe, well, happy and healthy is to resist tyranny in all its forms and be persistent in helping each other.  We don't know when we'll be next - because under the present regime, no one is safe.

REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU'RE FROM - AFRICA, ASIA, INDIA, SOUTH AMERICA, MEXICO - EVEN EUROPE - YOU MUST KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AND WHAT YOUR RESOURCES ARE  - and  being under siege, when they're knocking at your door, or pulling such Nazi tricks as demanding to see your documents while you're casually strolling down the street or riding the subway will be much too late.

Or if you are accosted by bogus ICE agents who are pretending to be legitimate to shake down wary refugees and immigrants (which has been happening in New York City), you know how to handle them and yourself.

So drop everything and make it your business to be at
6001 GERMANTOWN AVE.
First United Methodist Church of Germantown
3:00 PM Today, February 25, 2017
(215) 439-5409

If you have any questions make sure you bring them with you!

As we used to say in the Girl Scouts: "BE PREPARED!!"
