EVENT ALERT EXTRA: REMEMBER TO BLACK OUT BLACK FRIDAY!!!

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

Hello All:

Well, we are at ground zero for Thanksgiving 2015.  Today's the day - and the houses will be filled with wonderful aromas of baking turkey, rolls, collard greens, cornbread, sweet potato pies, mac and cheese the way only we can make it.

Today we put on our best and gather with our families and friends to give thanks.

What a wonderful day this will be.

I truly hope we all have something to be thankful for and express our appreciation fully.

I also hope that we remember that this is the beginning of the official boycott of Black Friday, and shopping in stores that commercialize Christmas.

By now most of you know that we are trying to make a break between being puppets to a meanstream society that has made  it clear that Black lives don't matter, while Black dollars do.  So we have to send the message that our Black dollars will stay in our pockets as long as we continue to be the main targets and victims of racism, police brutality, disenfranchisement, housing discrimination, medical discrimination, substandard educational practices.

We will no longer line their pockets with our hard earned money.

Before  you forget - if you don't already have a poster, take a piece of paper and write on it in big bold black letters, I am not participating in Black Friday until Black Lives Really Matter in the US!!

There are thousands of Black merchants and business waiting to fulfill your shopping needs - just look them up.  This calls for discipline and determination.  They want to undermine our resolve, but we have a great deal to gain in the long run if we pull together.

I know that the meanstream media has been trying to squelch this - because it's a threat to the almighty dollar so many of their sponsors depend up on to pay them to keep us dumb - but I'm reminding  you that WE ARE BOYCOTTING BLACK FRIDAY 2015 - NOT ONE RED CENT OUT OF A BLACK POCKET SHOULD GO INTO THEIR POCKETS - WE SHOULD ACTIVELY STAY AT HOME AND REFUSE TO GET SUCKED INTO THE COMMERCIALISM OF PSEUDO BARGAINS FROM THE SAME PEOPLE WHO SPEND THE REST OF THE YEAR DEPRIVING US OF DECENT HOMES, EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE AND QUALITY OF LIFE.

We really need to do more about also distribution of Blessings among ourselves as well - so while we draw away from them, let's begin to draw nigh unto each other and consolidate this statistical wealth we are always talking about into some thing tangible - like buying a million acres to build Black homes and communities in certain neighborhoods. So, if we tie the money we are not going to spend on "Black Friday" and use it to buy ourselves our own communities, start our own stores, schools, police agencies, health centers, I will say we've really done something spectacular - in much the same way Marcus Garvey was able to lead Black people to do 90+ years ago.
That way, we're not just anti them, we are pro ourselves and our families.
Have a Blessed Day of Giving Thanks - Black out Black Friday - put it in the Bank.

Find a wonderful Black business to spend your dollars with.

THE SAME AMOUNT OF SKILL AND STRATEGY USED TO SCOUT OUT SHOPS AND BARGAINS CAN BE USED TO IDENTIFY THESE BLACK BUSINESSES AND BEGIN TO PATRONIZE THEM.

THE SAME MEANS BY WHICH WE COME TOGETHER TO PARTY OR PUT TOGETHER A RECREATIONAL ACTIVITY CAN BE USED TO DEVELOP A WAY TO TRULY POOL OUR RESOURCES TO PURCHASE PROPERTIES, HOMES THAT CAN BE THE BEGINNING OF A NEW COMMUNITY. IT IS UP TO US - NO ONE ELSE TO MAKE THESE DOLLARS TRULY WORK FOR US.

SO HAVE A HAPPY THANKS GIVING - BE SURE AND GIVE THANKS FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE AND WILL HAVE IF YOU TAKE THE TIME, INTEREST, ENERGY AND INTELLIGENCE TO GET IT TOGETHER.

STAY BLESSED  &

EVENT ALERT: PEOPLE COME TOGETHER FOR A POLICE BRUTALITY PROTEST RALLY IN DC DEC. 13

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

Hello All:

December is now stacking up to be the month for massive demonstrations - the largest of which will take place this coming Saturday, December 13, in Washington, DC.

In the growing and glaring wake of police atrocities that appear to be at pandemic levels - and new reports daily are coming in of other egregious acts of depraved indifference when it comes to Black lives - a massive rally is scheduled this week end in the support of the families of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and other Black young men who have lost their lives at the hands of policemen, either through gun shot or excessive force using illegal procedures - such as the choke hold, which killed Eric Garner.

Buses are being sponsored from New York City.  Those interested can contact Reggie Wells or the National Action Network

Reggie Wells: "Athletes, celebrities and general public around the nation are coming together SATURDAY Dec 13th in Washington DC to Join the families of Eric Garner, Mike Brown, Akai Gurley as we march & protest to police brutality on our people. Have Buses leaving from Harlem State Building @ 5AM ROUNDTRIP IS $50 If you like go PLEASE REPOND ASAP!!!! Call 917-297-1487. Let's make a change. Please spread the word!!!!!!"

There are many who think they can squeak through this holiday and just wish or pray this away - not become involved, or rationalize that somehow these Black men must have done something wrong to have had this happen to them.  And if being born Black is a crime - which apparently it is as far as white cops in America are concerned - then they're guilty as charged.

But while you sit on the sidelines, go to the shops we are boycotting, and spend your dollars as if it doesn't matter, just remember, in a racist society, where the color of your skin is already a subliminal criminal act, you have an equal opportunity of being blown away by a copy for walking, shopping, living, breathing or talking while Black.

It's time to put a stop to the abuse and brutality at the hands of those who have been given a license to kill.  I frankly think that in the realm of new technology, police should no longer be allowed to have guns - but tasers.  But that's not practical when there are so many guns circulating among the real criminals - and notice I emphasized "REAL CRIMINALS."  While the police are going after people who either have committed no crime or petty crimes - i.e. non injury or non violent acts, those who are really operating from a standpoint of violence, murder, etc., are not apprehended.

President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder are both examining the possibilities of making it a requirement for all policemen to wear body cameras - and that's a good think.  Eric Holder is also considering bringing federal charges against the perpetrators as well.

But we, the Black people of the United States also have a role and responsibility in this - we must make our voices heard; we must stand together from this point forward, not only when some one is gunned down, but in proactive measures as well - because we are the primary target of police brutality, poverty, injustice, miseducation, substandard housing, unemployment and health - this march is only a beginning - a first salvo - but a major one, sending the signal across the nation and the world, that Black people are coming together in solidarity for our own progress and success.  We're moving forward, not turning back, until we completely eradicate these scourges from our lives.  VICTORS - NOT VICTIMS!

Buses leaving from Harlem State Building @ 5AM ROUNDTRIP IS $50 If you like go PLEASE REPOND ASAP!!!! Call 917-297-1487. Let's make a change. Please spread the word!!!!!!"

In addition to the demonstrations, we are urging all Black people and people of consciousness to withhold your money from the corporate Christmas conglomerates - if you do any shopping, make your dollars count in the Black communities and with the Black businesses - BUY BLACK OR NOT AT ALL!

Together we stand, divided we remain victims of the prison, military industrial complex that is the US.  So contact Reggie Wells, or any of the other organizations involved, and get on the bus.

Stay Blessed &
