EVENT ALERT - APRIL 23 THROUGH APRIL 30, 2016

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

Hello All:

One should never ask a question one does not want answered.  Two weeks ago I asked whether you were up to the crazy schedule of events that transpired during the first half of April - and now we are here at the 22nd and I have to admit that I myself was just a step away   from total exhaustion!!!

I only made half of the events, but by the time Monday the 18th had rolled around, I knew I needed to take a break!  One thing they can't say about as a people is that we aren't involved, engaged and active.  Leave it to us there would be something happening 365/24/7 - and that was pretty much the case.

I'm in the process of completing the articles on the National Action Network Convention - there was so much going on for Rev. Al Sharpton's 25th Anniversary;  and of course Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams' Open House until I almost blew putting together the upcoming event alert - which will be no less impactful.

But first a reminder of a few upcoming events that are totally a must do - regardless of where you are, or who you are:

PENNSYLVANIA PRIMARY ELECTION DAY - MAKE SURE YOU GET UP, GET OUT, GO TO THE POLLS AND MAKE YOUR VOICE AND CHOICE COUNT.  Don't allow some dissident, or divisive individual or philosophy to deter you from exercising your right and responsibility to vote - something your relatives fought and died for in the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and even now, cannot be taken lightly or neglected - regardless of who you chose to vote for - you must VOTE!!!

APRIL 28 - 30, 2016
PENN RELAYS WEEK END -

What can I say?  My son participated in the Penn Relays when he was a Junior and Senior at A. Phillip Randolph High School in Harlem - there's a soft spot for the Penn Relays in our family.  This is a time honored tradition that gets world wide attention every year.  Philly will be flooded with wannabe and gonna be track stars from all over the planet - If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to check it out - and the night life and food are also major attractions.

This is the link to the schedule - for more detail "google" Penn Relays 2016:

OKAY!  THAT'S IT FOR NOW - MAY IS SHAPING UP TO BE AS PACKED FULL AS APRIL - BUT I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON - "DO, BUT DON'T OVER DO!"

ENJOY!

STAY BLESSED &
