First of all, in case I have neglected to do
so: CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO GOT OUT THERE,
SHOWED UP AND TURNED UP THE VOTE AND MADE THE MID-TERM ELECTIONS A
THREE-PEAT VICTORY - It's the first time in history this has ever been
done AND WE DID IT TOGETHER!! We made it happen!! No Doubt about it
BLACK POWER IS ALSO VOTE POWER!!

Which is why I'm telling you to spend as much
time and attention to the State of the Union Address by President Biden
as you do the Super Bowl, the BET Awards, the Grammy, even the Academy
Awards!! Focus on what the President has to say with the same fervor and
enthusiasm as you do many of the TV shows you subscribe to - because
the State of the Union has even more relevance and bearing on your life
and future as these scripted entertainment shows you focus on. EVEN
MORE.
Isn't it interesting that NBC has done an
ersatz "poll" on President Biden's "popularity" and is flooding the
media with negative findings. I'll bet not one of you/us were called
to participate in the survey. I know they didn't call me. If they
called you, please let me know, and I'll stand corrected.
But their statistical findings findings are
rather suspect, when you consider the major victory we just handed the
repuglycons during this recent 2022 MidTerm Election. Seems a though
they're trying to become the next Fox Faux news channel? Common sense
and intelligence tells you that there's no way Democratic voters could
have totally flipped flopped in their support in less than two months
after handing the repuglycons their heads on a plate.
If we've learned anything from these last three
elections, it's to not trust the meanstream media - they will give you
their slant on the issues, and you'll take it as being the truth. Only
to later find that the most important points have either been totally
left out, or slanted.
If you can sit and watch hours upon hours of
the Grammy Awards, regardless of who the winners are, you can spend an
hour watching and listening to President Biden as he outlines the
success as well as plans for the future - YOUR FUTURE AND YOUR
CHILDREN'S FUTURE! You might even take notes. Have your kids there -
especially your college students, and those looking to start careers in
other areas. The State of the UNION IS FOR YOU/US/WE THE PEOPLE! The
repuglycons are counting on your not watching it - on your blowing it
off - on your drinking the media flavored kool-aid, laced with an over
dosage of T-rump/McCarthy Poisoning!
As you probably know, by now, the country
we live in has been pushed to the brink of divisiveness and destruction
by a pseudo-president who incited a riot to overthrow the government so
that he could fulfill his egomaniacal dream of becoming an absolute
dictator over the United States. His agenda has sparked racism, fasism,
and other isms that have pushed us to the brink. Hard on his heels of
wanting to do even worse is the current governor of Florida - who is
trying to ban Black books, Black History, Black education - and out do
his closest rival. In you heart of hearts you also know that every time
the repuglycons are in office everything turns to ISH!! Check the
records: after the end of each of the previous repuglycon president's
term, American has been thrown into complete and total chaos and
depression: Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, T-rump! Usually, the
Dems have to come and clean up the mess they've made - and then America
gets amnesia and elects another incompetent, insensitive, ignorant,
greedy Repuglycon - and the madness starts all over again.
Now that we've got the right one in
office - PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN - don't let the pundits, nitwits, and phony
news commentators lie to you and fool you into thinking you can't
comprehend it, or that it's not relevant. Let's keep fooling them, and
show up when they least expect us!
Standing between them and actually the
survival of the country is PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN - and VICE PRESIDENT
KAMALA HARRIS, and the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. And, unless you've got a villa
on some island away from here, what happens over the next 24 months is
going to affect you - us all - in monumental proportions. You cannot
afford to sit on the fence, or be ignorant, or lackadaisical about the
way forward.
The Repuglycons want you ignorant - they
want you thinking you don't matter or that you don't have anything to
contribute. They want our Black men and women fighting against each
other, and our children dumb as a box of rocks. They want to reverse
our education and our power. SO FOR THIS REASON, YOU MUST NOT ONLY
WATCH THE STATE OF THE UNION, BUT BE PREPARED OT TIE THE CONGRESS,
SENATE, AND PRESIDENT'S FEET TO THE FIRE TO MAKE SURE THESE
PLANS/PROMISES ARE CARRIED OUT.
By the way, in case you've suddenly come
down with a case of convenient amnesia, just remember that the previous
incumbent's idea of a State of the Union was bragging on all the things
that only he could do; casting aspersions on the Democrats by lying on
their efforts, while secretly aligning with the enemy; putting innocent
children in concentration camps; and consorting with those whose i.q.
level was somewhere below 6 points, in order to manuver them into
attacking the government. And when he or his henchmen weren't doing
that, they were trying to distract us from their shortcomings by talking
about a non-existent Hunter Biden laptop; or trying to get you to focus
on Hilary Clinton's emails - which, by the way, were nothing compared
to the classified docs found in his private lair. Nothing of substance
ever came from any repuglycon State of The Union - because their
presidential administrations were only devoted to lining the pockets of
their cronies and themselves.
First
of all, you absolutely have to know that despite the efforts of the
repuglycons, and their cronies: President Biden has done more for the
economy and American people in two years than most Presidents have done
in two terms (8 years)!!

The Biden-Harris Administration’s Work to Make Our Communities Safer and Advance Effective, Accountable Policing. A young Black man should not have to fear
for his life when stopped for an alleged traffic violation. And no one
should have to put their life on the line to stop a mass shooter. At the
State of the Union, Mrs. RowVaughn Wells and Mr. Rodney Wells, Tyre
Nichols’ mother and stepfather, will sit in the First Lady’s box. Tyre
Nichols’ death is just the latest horrific example of the fear and
trauma, pain, and exhaustion that Black and brown Americans experience
every day. They will be joined by Brandon Tsay, who showed the ultimate
courage by stopping a gunman in Monterey Park, California just last
month.
President Biden is committed to making our
communities safer, including by advancing effective, accountable
policing. Our criminal justice system must protect the public and ensure
fair and impartial justice for all. The Biden-Harris Administration has taken action to
advance effective, accountable policing, build trust, and improve public
safety so that we make the promise of equal justice under the law a
reality for all.
President Biden will highlight progress to implement
his Safer America Plan and additional steps he will take in the year
ahead:
- Advances effective, accountable policing
- Funds police; promotes effective prosecution of crimes affecting families today.
- Invests in crime prevention and a fairer criminal justice system.
- Takes additional commonsense steps to keep dangerous firearms out of dangerous hands.
Advancing effective, accountable policing
Re-issuing the Call for Congress to Pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act: To advance accountability, transparency, and public
trust in law enforcement. Real change at the state and local level
requires Congressional action.
Making Federal Policing the Gold Standard of Effectiveness and Accountability. After
Senate Republicans blocked passage of the George Floyd Justice in
Policing Act last year – So President Biden signed a historic Executive Order to advance
effective, accountable policing and strengthen public safety. The order
requires federal law enforcement agencies to: ban chokeholds; restrict
no-knock warrants; mandate the use of body-worn cameras; implement
stronger use of force policies, including with the duty to intervene and
duty to render medical aid; provide de-escalation training; submit
officer misconduct records into a new national database; and restrict
the transfer of military equipment to local law enforcement agencies,
among other things. ICYMI: The Biden Economic Plan Is Working!! In addition, the President has already successfully launched an historic, equitable economic recovery. President
Biden’s economic strategy led to a historic recovery with tangible
benefits for workers and families. Since President Biden took office,
the economy has created more than 12 million jobs—including more than 800,000 manufacturing jobs—and the unemployment rate is at a 54-year low, including near record lows for Black workers. The unemployment rate for Hispanic workers hit a record low last year. The past two years were also the best two years for new small business applications on record. None of this progress was pre-ordained. Before President Biden signed his Rescue Plan into law, experts predicted
it would take far longer to create this many jobs. And few—if
any—experts predicted it would be possible to get the unemployment rate
down to a level last seen in 1969. In fact, before the Rescue Plan
passed, the Congressional Budget Office projected the unemployment rate
in the first quarter of 2023 would be 4.8%, rather than its current
level of 3.4%. More breathing room and economic security for families. This
historic jobs recovery, along with Biden-Harris Administration policies
designed to help workers and families, has left families more
economically secure than before the pandemic. Compared to pre-pandemic
levels, households are now less likely to be delinquent on their credit card bills and mortgages, and more likely to have health insurance. They are facing fewer evictions and
foreclosures than there were before the pandemic, and bankruptcy rates
are lower as well. This economic security is giving families peace of
mind and breathing room that they didn’t have before the pandemic. Child
poverty also fell to a historic low in 2021, and the President will
call on Congress to continue these gains through the expanded Child Tax
Credit, even as he has taken action to lift nearly 1 million children
out of poverty by modernizing nutrition benefits.
Progress on transitioning to steady, stable growth with lower inflation. In
the wake of unprecedented economic disruption from a historic pandemic,
inflation has been a challenge all over the globe. Last spring,
President Biden set the goal of transitioning our economy to lower
inflation, while maintaining a resilient job market for American
workers. Now, annual inflation has fallen for six months straight,
driven in large part by a roughly $1.50 decline in gas prices compared
to last summer. Over the second half of 2022, three-month core inflation
fell from nearly 8% at an annualized rate to 3%
Manufacturing Boom Across the Country and Historic Investments in Infrastructure: Repuglycons moved most of our manufacturing jobs overseas and factories closed down. The
President believes that the United States can lead the world in
manufacturing again. His economic plan has done just that—generate a
manufacturing boom across the country and build an economy where no one
is left behind. The President’s economic plan is stimulating new
factories and manufacturing lines and creating good-paying jobs that
don’t require a four-year degree. His plan includes the most significant
upgrade to our nation’s infrastructure in generations. It means jobs for Americans first!
Justice Department Action to Ensure Accountability and Encourage Reform. In
just two years, the Department of Justice has opened eight
pattern-or-practice investigations of law enforcement agencies for
systemic misconduct and rescinded a Trump-era memo that inhibited the
use of consent decrees, an important tool to reform troubled police
departments. DOJ also restored and improved the voluntary Collaborative
Reform program, providing technical assistance to police departments
that ask for help to reform their practices and build trust, and has
awarded millions of dollars in grants for de-escalation and anti-bias
training.
Funding the police and promoting effective prosecution of crimes affecting families today Putting more community police on our streets with proper training. The
President’s Safer America Plan would fund 100,000 additional police
officers who will be recruited, trained, hired, and supervised --
consistent with the standards in the President’s Executive Order -- in
order to enhance trust and public safety.
Clearing court backlogs and taking repeat shooters off our streets. The
Safer America Plan invests in the technology and data systems
modernization; integrate pre-trial services, judicial, and law
enforcement records; support strategies that involve close
partnerships between federal, state, and local law enforcement, among other techniques.
Investing in crime prevention and a fairer criminal justice system: The President’s Safer America Plan
calls on Congress to invest $15 billion in services that help prevent
crime from occurring in the first place, including: mental health and
substance use disorder services, such as co-responder and alternative
responder programs where social workers and other professionals respond
to calls that should not be the responsibility of law enforcement. Also provides job
training and employment opportunities, including for teenagers and young
adults; housing and other supportive social services to individuals who
are homeless; and reentry services so people leaving prison can
stabilize their lives and avoid recidivism. The Plan also incentivizes
the reform of laws that increase incarceration without reducing public
safety and lift almost all federal restrictions on eligibility for vital
benefits (such as food, income, and disability-based assistance) for
people with prior convictions.
Addressing a failed approach to marijuana and crack cocaine. The
criminalization of marijuana possession has upended too many lives—for
conduct that is now legal in many states. While white, Black and brown
people use marijuana at similar rates, Black and brown people are
disproportionately
While the President cannot mandate changes at the
state and local level, the order incentivizes state and local reforms
through grantmaking, new accreditation standards, and training and
technical assistance. The Administration is actively implementing the
order. For example, agencies have already prohibited chokeholds and
restricted no-knock entries, updated their use of force-policies, and
prohibited the transfer of military-grade weapons and equipment to local
law enforcement agencies.
This was
just a brief overview of some of the issues and plans President Biden
with cover in the State of the Union Address this evening!! If you want

a lot smarter, and much more relevant, and effective in getting what
you want/need from the government.
