CALL TO ACTION

NACA Members need to be a major presence at the House Financial Services Congressional hearing titled “Holding Mega Banks Accountable After the Financial Crisis.”  

The CEO’s of Wells Fargo, Chase, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and others will be testifying. 

Join us in representing NACA and your communities at this important hearing.

WHEN & WHERE

Wednesday, April 10^th in Washington D.C. at the capital

GOAL

Stand with NACA and voice your support in keeping NACA’s Best in America Mortgage available to you and your community.  

We need to let Congress and the public know that we will not take a back seat to the financial executives who pay for preferential access to important hearings.  

We have not forgotten the financial crisis they created that devastated homeowners and communities nationwide.  

Lenders must be required to significantly increase affordable lending to low-to-moderate income and minority homebuyers.  

Let’s show them who NACA is and why they need to make the NACA Mortgage the national standard for affordable lending!

Remember:  The Banks and Congress can ignore one of us, but they cannot ignore us all!!!

 ATTENTION ALL:

We are mobilizing to have a massive turnout of our Members  and those concerned about the lack of affordable housing, and discriminatory practices at the Financial Services Congressional hearing on Wednesday April 10^th.  The hearing is about the role of the mega banks after the financial crisis.  The CEO’s of the mega banks will be there. 

We have sent the below email and a similar robo call to our members in the northeast.  We have had a great response.  We need to follow-up with all the people who have responded that they are interested in coming or need more information.  We have created a report that you need to use to follow-up.  The report is in the report section under Outreach “Campaign DC”.  We need to call everyone on the list.  Put in the information of whether they will come and how many people.  I have put some points below for you to provide to our Members:

·      What are we trying to accomplish?

This is a unique opportunity to highlight the NACA Mortgage and purchase program.  We can flex NACA’s grassroots muscle with the audience being the CEO’s of all the major banks, members of congress, media, and the public who will be watching.  

·      What will I be doing?

We will work to get as many people as possible into the hearing.  We will also be going to various congressional offices to speak about NACA and our purchase program.

·      What time should I be there? 

We would like you to be there by 6:00 a.m. or earlier.  The sooner the better and more likely to get into the hearing.

·      Where do we go?

It will be at the Congress.  Meet at the Longworth Housing Office Building at 15 Independence Ave S.E.  Please line up at the entrance there.    

·      What Congressional hearing are we going to?

It is being held by the House Financial Services Committee in hearing room 2128 in the Rayburn building.

·      Will NACA provide food and transportation?

Yes.  We will be transporting people from Philadelphia, Baltimore and Newark, NJ  We will be leaving very early.
