Additionally, Angela Alsobrooks received the
endorsement of the Prince George’s County Muslim Council (PGCMC) on Wednesday,
June 28, during the Muslim celebration of Eid Al-Adha. PGCMC joins EMILYs List, Higher Heights for
America and more than 70 leaders and lawmakers from across Maryland, who have
endorsed Angela in her senate race. Nearly 70 leaders, lawmakers and organizations that are currently mobilizing to support her in her bid for US Senate.
“County Executive Angela Alsobrooks has made herself
accessible to the Muslim community and has been responsive to our issues
including support of our business community, the development of our young
adults and facilitating our ability to provide religious support to our
incarcerated co-religionists,” said Prince George’s County Muslim Council
Leader Jameel Aalim-Johnson.
“She has also nominated members of the Muslim
community to serve on boards and commissions to help improve services and the
quality of life for Prince George’s County residents. We believe she will
continue to work hard, not only for the Muslim community but for individuals
across this state, and it is our pleasure to endorse her campaign to represent
Maryland in the U.S. Senate
Alsobrooks already has several victories under her belt - especially
her 2022 Democratic primary contest - garnering 91% of the votes before being
reelected unopposed in the general election.
In 2018 she defeated a former
Congressmember to win the Democratic nomination as County Executive, earning 62% of the votes. She's now looking to carry that momentum forward in her upcoming bid for US Senate.
From 2010 to 2018, Angela was State’s Attorney - the top law enforcement officer for Prince George
County. She significantly and consistently reduced crime in every major
category during that time. Her 2010 election was her first time on the ballot
for elected office; she defeated the incumbent clerk of court (a position elected
countywide) and incumbent county council chair with 42% of the
vote – twice what any other candidate garnered.
Angela studied law in Baltimore from 1993 to 1996, earning her
law degree from the University of Maryland Law School (Baltimore). From
there, she clerked for respected jurists Donna Hill Staton at the Howard County
Circuit Court; and William Quarles at the Baltimore City Circuit Court before returning
to Prince George’s County as an assistant state’s attorney.
Angela, who served two terms as Prince George’s
County State’s Attorney and is the sitting County Executive, is running for the
U.S. Senate to be a voice for the families she’s worked for throughout her
life.
Angela Alsobrooks runs on a strong record of public service, decreasing crime,
enhancing schools, creating jobs, growing the economy, and increasing access to
mental health and addiction treatment, is humbled by the community's support:

will go down in history as the year America kicked fascism to the curb,
sent a message to T-rump and his maniacal maga/maggots, and a signal to
the rest of the world, that we will not allow fascism and political
violence, greed, lies, propaganda, and neo-nazi mentalities to take over
in America. Women - Black, white, of color, young gen-z's to modern
Seniors - turned out to make sure they know our bodies and our decisions
belong to us!!
Pennsylvania
issued stunning blows to the maga/maggots by electing JOHN FUTTERMAN
SENATOR over Odd Oz, who sneaked in from New Jersey and was sponsored by
T-rump; and JOSH SHAPIRO is now Governor-elect, clearly defeating
insurrectionist and traitor, Mastriano, who had actually tried to
overthrow the government on January 6, 2021!! Turning Pennsylvania from
Red or Purple, to a solid BLUE!!!
New
York also did us proud by making Kathy Hochul the first woman ever to
be elected governor, and returning my Sister/Friend Letitia "Tish" James
as Attorney General!! Despite the repuglycon's underhanded efforts to
steal the election.
Did
it solve all problems? No! I'm embarrassed to say that my home state
of Oklahoma is still sickly "red." And Floriada!!! I was praying for
Val Demings - who would have been a vast improvement over what currently
passes for leadership - did not win - and she should have - I wonder if
they pulled that same trick of dumping votes in the ocean like they did
when Al Gore was running for president. Bears looking into, don't you
think? Remember the hanging chads, dimpled chads, etc.
So,
there are definitely other major issues that still have to be resolved -
400 years worth of issues to be exact! But we didn't need the
compounding complications of con-artists to complicate already difficult
issues. And certainly, political violence - something that had become a
policy of the alt-right wingnuts, had to be dealt with.
Did we win everything? Not yet! But we are monitoring those "too close to call"
districts to make sure every one of our votes counted. Clearly there
are some loonies who managed to squeak through - Marjorie Taylor-Green
clearly showed that there are people who are so masochistic and stupid
(and racist) that they will vote against their own self interests and
the good of their community, and continue supporting a menace, instead
of electing someone who could have made a critical difference in their
progress and well being - such as Marcus Flowers. And the defeat of
Mandela Barnes still boggles the mind in Wisconsin - considering the
posture of his opponent.
Of
course, the good news that the Senate majority is Democratic, means
President Biden can continue the wonderful job he's doing in passing
much needed legislation, and maintaining programs that are absolutely
necessary for us to move forward. Yay!
But,
let's not get it twisted - the fight isn't over yet. We can't sit back
and pat ourselves on the back just yet. The upcoming runoff in Atlanta
on December 6, 2022, is still key to our very existence - Pastor
Raphael Warnock must prevail over T-rump puppet Herschel Walker! We
need to - No! We must - help our brother in this
fight to retain his seat in the Senate!! It also stops Georgia's being
trammeled under the heel of the Repuglycons. Victory in Georgia is an
absolute must.

and Sisters, December 6, 2022 is less than 30 days away! We've been in
defense mode for the past few months - but now we have go to full on
offensive - because every underhanded lie, distortion, bribe, propaganda
will be leveled against Rev. Warnock by Walker's puppet monsters -
T-rump, McConnell, and the rest of those who know how to manipulate
Walker, an individual whose claim to fame is as unofficial stud service,
while ducking the responsibility of fatherhood. Sadly, Walker is the
epitome of the stereotype fostered by caucasoids of what Black men
represent. They would like nothing better than to have him in the
Senate so they can continue to manipulate him as an embarrassment to
Black people worldwide. It would show that we have no standards of
quality as a people if we support him over Raphael Warnock - an
educated, intelligent, spiritual, ethical, Black man.
Georgia vote for Raphael Warnock in the December 6, 2022 Runoff
It's not only a slap in the face of the late John Lewis,
who stood in the breech for Black people from the Selma debauchery,
through his excellent record in Congress, where he continued, through
his activism, to exemplify his dedication to Black people. Walker is an
example of the stereotype caucasoids hold of Black people - to be
easily duped by a few dollars and a pseudo celebrity. They tried to
pull that in Pennsylvania with Oz, and we kicked him back over to New
Jersey. Georgia must now send Walker home to his family, and making
speeches to his Heisman Trophies.
For
those of us who did not have Black history, allow me to fill you in on
something the caucasoids won't teach you in school: When Thurgood Marshall,
the first and only Black man on the Supreme court - died in 1993, after
having served since 1967, the repuglycon party was in power. Instead
of putting an equally intelligent, competent and accomplished Black man
in his place, they put Uncle Thomas Clarence, as a means of punishing
Black people and reversing all that Marshall had done and stood for.
And he has done their bidding ever since - even reversing our right to
vote!
This
is the same reason they back Walker!! They know he would be as
detrimental for issues facing Black people as Clarence Thomas is in the
Subprime court. They own Walker lock, stock, and barrel - and they can
dangle him like a puppet on a string, and get him to do their bidding -
which will definitely be detrimental to Black people.
Not
only can we not allow Walker to happen to Black Georgians - but Black
people throughout America will be harmed by this. Even though there is a
"majority" in the Senate, selecting a sell out to represent Black
people - regardless of what your political affiliation is
psychologically damaging to our children, and shows that we have no to
very low standards as a people!!
WE CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE HERSCHEL WALKER ELECTED TO ANY OFFICE OF ANY CONSEQUENCE FOR THAT MATTER.
Now,
I don't live in Georgia, and can't vote there. And there are many
others saying the same thing. But, just like we did when he faced the
runoff in 2020, we can still help - with our contributions, our phone
calls, our connections with our friends, relatives, associates and
organizations in Georgia. Of course we can pray, and those prayers are
absolutely necessary since it's come to light that there are several
Black churches who suddenly received large sums of money from the alt
right wingnut repuglycons to "improve" their churches - in exchange for
not supporting Warnock!!!! The caucasoids used divide and conquer to do
what they've always done when it came time for us to unite and prevail.
However, this time it won't stand, as church members are beginning to
open up about the identities of the menace-ters - and are coming
together to support Warnock despite them. I think we can look to see a
major shift in Georgia's clerical leadership in the near future.
As
I said before, all eyes are still on Georgia - Raphael Warnock is now
the only one who can show that Black Georgians and Georgians of good
consciousness vote their highest and best self interest, not their
racism. Stacey Abrams should have been elected governor. Instead
Georgia continued with a miscreant who is allowing the Chinese to take
over properties that are essential to the well being of the state. Now,
more than ever Georgia needs Warnock to make sure legislation and
programs are fostered for their benefit.
So, how are we going to help, since we don't live in Georgia?

Dr. Odd (uh, Oz) thought he could sneak across the Pennsylvania border from
another state, claim residence and run against Lt Governor John
Fetterman, a lifelong Pennsylvanian, and steal the senate race. He
actually thought he could hoodwink Pennsylanians into believing he was a
resident, The only person stuck on stupid is Dr. Odd (and perhaps the
meanstream media and faux news).
The same
Dr. Odd whose TV show misled thousands of viewers to follow him, try
his bogus products, follow his quackery medical advice, and purchase his
Made In China products, lies with a straight face, without blinking
an eye.
While
pretending to be genuine, Oz flipped the script on so many of his
viewers and crossed over into the repuglycon party. Most of us feel
we've been betrayed - stabbed in the back - sabotaged. He actually took
it for granted that we would mindlessly follow him blindly.
Seriously????
Taking advantage of America's trust is nothing new. Back on the old days, in the 1800s, there
were groups of men who would criss-cross the country preying on the
ignorance of local people, selling them bogus medical remedies, making
them think they had miracle cures. Because they were good a faking
sincerity and authenticity, they were able to dazzle and deceive them
with their slick fast talk, and smooth looks. These were called Snake
Oil men. Their phony "miracle" cures caused more harm than good, while
pretending they were the only ones who had the cure, remedy, magic -
you name it! If someone tried to question their product or get more
information, they would try to distract them by accusing someone else of
being phony, or come up with some other "danger" to take the focus of
them. If you notice during the debate, when John Fetterman had him
cornered in his pile of lies, Dr, Oz would try to weasel out of it by
invoking the lie about the infiltration of "fentanyl." There was one
time when he said it so many times, we thought he had suddenly forgotten
what the original question was. The hype about fentanyl - generated by
the media - is largely used to vilify immigrants coming to the US for
asylum.
Following in the tradition of
the con artist, Oz comes sneaks into Pennsylvania with a pocket full
of lies, and support of the former predator in chief, thinking he can
use his so called celebrity to fool the people. Instead of his usual
snake oil to cure lumbago, to get rid of the drought, clear your skin,
cure baldness - and only for pennies on the dollar, he wants to be
elected US senator so he can misrepresent Pennsylvania and hand us over
to the predator in chief and his goons. He is hoping that
Pennsylvanians will fall for his "celebrity" status, and completely
overlook the fact that he has absolutely no experience whatsoeve, knows
nothing about governing, legislating, or ameliorating problems. He is
only there to be a paid seat filler T-rump and his fascists so that
they can begin to destroy democracy. He is hoping that people will fall
for the okey-doke, buy his lies, run to the polls and vote him in only
to find they'd been "hornswaggled" - ripped off, lied to, hoodwinked.
Oz
tried to back off his statement about abortion being murder; he tried
to side step his residency issues; he tried to back pedal from his
alliance with T-rump. He used his "silver" tongue to try to convince
people that he was "sincere" and honorable. LOL and then Dr. Oz literally said that the decision to have an abortion is between "a woman, her doctor, and local political leaders."
This con-artist's TV show has given him the glibness of tongue,
so he can spin lies faster than a cat can lick his face. Some people
are dazzled and deceived into thinking he is the real deal. But not
Pennsylvanians. And most certainly not Philadelphians. But, it's the
formula T-rump used - so he is going to try to shove it down our
throats.
All I can say is here we go again folks!! T-rump to Oz - how much further can we allow ourselves to sink?
Didn't
America already get sucked in with that line of erroneous thinking?
TWICE!! First with Ronald (can't act worth a damn) Reagan, and more
recently with Donald (orange face fool - predator and liar-in-chief)
T-rump. And please note, at no time in this or any of my other articles
do I ever associate the word "president" and "T-rump" in the same phrase
- because he never was, nor will he ever be, President of the US. He
was never elected - he was aided and abetted by Russian interference
with our election. We definitely should have learned our lesson by now -
and not make the same mistake a third time with "Dr. Odd!!"
That
said, what these three men have in common was name recognition and
celebrity - either from being on TV or in the movies!! And a gullible
crowd that accrued a certain amount of hero-worship to characters who
were anything but heroes; had never ever held a responsible job in their
lives; purported to have all the answers to the problems - and
completely screwed up everything they touched. This is how we got to
January 6th, 2021. Add to that Mastriano, who hired buses, took 300
people down to DC for the attempted overthrow of the government, and you
have a recipe for disaster, with Pennsylvania being served up as the
main dish - the sacrificial lamb.
Oz tried
to inveigh John Fetterman's stroke was a liability. However, like
others, Fetterman is on the mend. How disingenuous for an ersatz doctor
to try disparage someone, when his very field dictates that he be a
beacon of courage in the healing arts. What a hypocrite!!!
What
Fetterman lacks in verbosity, he makes up for it in actions,
accomplishments, sincerity, and vision!! While the debate arena may not
be his long suit, and he might not be able to spin a yarn - he gets
things done - and has consistently proved it by doing just that!! He's
put his Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy
School of Government to good use in the service of his constituency.
His focus on finding solutions in social
work, business, and public policy to confront urban challenges and
economic inequality, made him a standard bearer as a former mayor, and
later distinguished him as Lieutenant Governor to governor Tom Wolfe. During his 12 years as mayor, he built Braddock
back from the verge of extinction.
Distorted
commercials about his wanting to raise taxes, neglects to mention that,
like President Biden, he is looking to tax those making $400,000 and
above - not the working class. So don't believe the disinformation
being portrayed on TV. Nor should you believe the garbage about letting
criminals loose, when he's made it patently clear that he's speaking of
victimless crimes, and misdemeanors. Keeping those who have minor
quality of life crimes should not be incarcerated, while at the same
time going after those who have committed capital and violent egregious
crimes, are not to be allowed to go free. His early stance on
legalizing marijuana shows he's a visionary; as well as ability to turn
an entire town around when they were on the brink of collapse.
Fetterman's
support for women didn't just start with the Supreme court overturning
Roe V. Wade. He's long been a supporter of women's rights, advanced
entreprenurial and business training for women. He has
worked with young people and artists to transform creative spaces, and
turned abandoned properties into urban gardens.
John has worked to attract new residents and new jobs, as more than a
dozen businesses have relocated into Braddock and the population has
stabilized for the first time in decades. As Lieutenant governor, he
brought the same approach to Harrisburg. Fetterman's considered a quiet
giant, who gets more pleasure out of doing and accomplishing, than
empty bragging and pontificating.
Please
don't let the fact that Oz's 30 years of being in front of a camera, and
the ability to lie with a straight face con you into thinking he "won"
the debate. Obviously "winning" has now taken on a different meaning -
especially since T-rump was able to become the ersatz president by
using Russian technology to change the votes, and then bought off the
(s)electorial college to get him in. If by "winning" the person who
tells the biggest lie with a straight face, the person who is able to
best dodge key questions, the person who is able to shift the focus on truth can
be considered a "winner," then perhaps Oz "won."
However,
his is all talk. No proof, no track record. No clue as to what is
truly in the best interest of Pennsylvanians. Please recall that a
similar situation occurred when a bold faced liar was allowed to become
the ersatz president of the US., plunging us into the most egregious
debacle ever experienced in modern times. And certainly something
totally unprecedented in the history of the U. S. A. If lies
constitute winning, then everyone who witnessed this debate needs a
serious wake up call. If Oz "won" the we lose, because he is a prime
example of why you must never, ever again elect anyone who has never
legislated, or passed a bill, or worked with and for the people to
resolve quality of life issues, or who pus his own ego first into any
office of responsibility and accountability - never ever ever again in
life!
PENNSYLVANIA CANNOT AFFORD TO ALLOW OZ TO BECOME ANYTHING EXCEPT BACK ACROSS THE BRIDGE TO NEW JERSEY!!
Haven't
we suffered enough with the ills that T-rump has visited on us?? Does
Pennyslvania need to compound it with a snake oil pseudo doctor who
sneaked across the border into Pennsylvania to steal the right to fair
elections, who sits in T-rump's back pocket; and who has no intention of
honoring our right to real representation?
If
you allow Oz to be elected senator - women will lose their right to
self-determination and control over our bodies; you are health care and
insurance will be on the chopping block, along with the minimum wage of
$15.00, plus equitable programs for those who deserve better educational
and training programs. More lies and less services for the next six
(6) years!! The end of women's rights, the lies and the invasion of
more racists coming up from the primordial ooze that is being generated
from Mar-A-Lago, Russia, China and North Korea via a megalomaniac who
will use Oz to establish a dictatorship in America!!
Is
that what you want?? You are stuck on stupid if you elect Mehmet Oz -
and I don't think that is what you want to wake up to on November 9,
2022 - which is why on NOVEMBER 8, 2022, you must VOTE FOR JOHN

But the big question is who is going to succeed KAMALA HARRIS IN THE SENATE - and we have to be explicitly and patently clear that that someone Gavin Newsom puts in that position has to be African American and Female. Kamala has created history by being the first to hold that role, and it should not be usurped under some misunderstood and misconceived diversity delusion.
This message is directed to Governor Newsom, but also to the CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS AS WELL. There is no leaving this to chance. This is too important in an era of errors to not allow people to impose their philosophical preferences on us. This is about being about the business of Black people - which is why we have a CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS in the first place.
There had been a rumor initially that Kamala Harris' aide finish out her term. Absolutely not!! This is not a one size fits all. This is about making sure that the highest and best interests of Black people are served. That what Kamala started as a senator is carried forward; and the person who is in that position has walked in our shoes.
And, while I don't have anyone specifically to recommend - yet - I want to make sure that we are not so focused on the essential elections in GEORGE WHERE WE ARE SUPPORTING OSSOFF AND WARNOCK to be elected to the senate - we certainly want to - must - walk and chew gum at the same time.
We must emphasize that the person who replaces Kamala Harris must be an AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE - who has a track record of working in behalf of African Americans.
Like the runoff in Georgia, this is pivotal for us all!! We can't assume anything. We have to take stands and make our concerns and wishes known. To do otherwise abrogates our role and responsibility to stand for ourselves and not allow others to make decisions for us.
Kamala Harris' replacement in the US Senate has to be an African American Female.

American history; the most crucial time in voting history, and people
are sitting on it again. Sadly, things could not be more dire - and we
could not be more apathetic - now, when I say "we," I'm talking about

myself on the fact that most of my readership are intelligent,
activist, pro-active brothers and sisters. But it's not enough. We
need you to help galvanize those who are not.
As
I mentioned a few posts back, t'is the season for campaign letters,
debates, meetings, solicitations - and it will be going on for the
balance of the year. Expect it. Don't ignore it. Don't view it as a
nuisance. It's an essential part of the process - especially when
you're dealing with the fact that most of our African American
candidates don't have big corporations in their back pockets, or haven't
made deals with the devil. They have to reach out to us across the
board. And we need to respond - or face 6 more years of people like
Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and other vipers continuing to ride
roughshod over us and the country.
The
amount of donations they are requesting is not monumental - and you
have President Barack Obama to thank for that. Because of his
understanding that we are not all millionaires, he made it possible for
contributions to be as low as $3.00 to $5.00 - to as high as you can
afford. So everybody can do something, so there's no excuse. And if
we're consistent there can be a steady flow of support for many of those
who are running against this political machine.
So,
I'm sharing this with you - and will consistently do so when I receive
solicitations from those candidates I think are worthy of our support.
