Greetings Crew:

Per my promise, I'm sharing any and all relevant info and articles that speaks to the issue we face under the current circumstances that threaten our existence - especially since so much of the media has been pro-Trump, or too wimpy to take a principled stance on the tragedy and travesty that we are currently facing.  I've been a subscriber to THE DAILY KOS since its inception several years ago.  They are one of the few pro-active publications that are not afraid to tell the truth.  As I mentioned in one of my recent postings, we have to stop playing the game by the rules the miscreants set - we have to relanguage their propaganda - Instead of MAGA - I call T-rump's crew "Maggots;"  instead of calling him the "president" - he is "the predator."   And now The Daily Kos has finally put on front street the truth most media try to skirt: the previous predator in chief represents facism and is trying to bring the US down an subjugate it into a fascist regime.  Given the fact that our youth - Black and white have been grossly "mis- and dis- educated" - civics no longer taught in the schools, unethical practices and greed being highlighted, as well as mocking those who would take a principled stance have now become the rules rather than the exception. 

Whether you sign the petition, or not, is your prerogative - I'm more interested in providing you with some of the better publications that are providing the truth in a realm where lies appear to be the rule, rather than the exception. 

PS:  I'd also like to add that we have to begin demanding remediation of the education system to re-establish programs that have been egregiously removed, such as: CIVICS, Real American History, Great Books, home economics, Physics, Chemistry, shop, vocational education, ethics, classics, music, art, etiquette -  among other things.  These were originally considered quality education - what we have now is a mere shadow of what most of us originally received - or that is provided in elite educational systems.  Our youth are now rendered to the level of automatons subjugated to the whims of social media and mis-information. SIGN THE PETITION During the 2016 election, many of us accurately nailed Donald T-rump as a threat to our lives, rights, and democracy. We rightfully called on media outlets to accurately report his outrageous claims and attacks, and urged them to stop treating him as a hilarious sideshow. Instead, he was repeatedly gifted primetime news and front page print coverage. Journalists and reporters prioritized horserace analysis and reality show-type sensationalism over debunking his lies, denouncing his vitriol, or even simply acknowledging the threat his authoritarian policies would have on our democracy. The coverage catapulted him from a fringe right-wing extremist to a fringe right-wing extremist with access to our nuclear codes and state secrets. It took years of advocacy and activism to remove Trump from office. But now, as his legal troubles grow and the Republican Party seeks a sure thing, we're watching too many journalists make the same damaging decisions in their coverage of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (DE-INSANITY). SIGN THE PETITION DeSantis wants to be president, and he is using his governorship to inherit, capitalize on, and politicize Donald T-rump's hate. He has spearheaded efforts to ban voter drop boxes and set up new roadblocks for vote by mail, gave motorists legal protection if they mow down protesters, pushed authoritarian legislation to silence dissent on and offline, targeted state employees who disagree with him, banned reporters from events unless he could count on positive coverage, and more. Mainstream (MEANSTREAM) media has largely avoided explicitly naming the danger DeSantis poses to our democracy, instead focusing once again on both-sides coverage and human interest profiles. Journalists covering DeSantis need to make it clear that he is an ideologue with a strong and growing track record of authoritarianism who, just like T-rump, uses his position of power to punish his enemies and reward his allies in furtherance of his political goals and without any regard to democratic process. T-rump and MAGA (MAGGOT) Republicans (REPUGLYCONS) have taken authoritarianism mainstream. DeSantis (DE-INSANITY) aims to enshrine it permanently. Our democracy depends on journalists providing accurate, unvarnished coverage of how radical and authoritarian DeSantis (DE-INSANITY) is.
