Hello All:
Well, I'm happy to report that there is some interest and consciousness stirring among the Black Community of Philadelphia at last - I was beginning to wonder whether the news had completely gone over everybody's heads - but hark, the Philadelphia Urban League is throwing out the first trial balloon to engage local Philadelphia Black businesses in planning for this upcoming affair.
So, if you haven't yet thought about it, now's your chance to get some insight as to where and how you may fit in with the upcoming festivities. And while I say festivities, you may be thinking that it's all politics. But no....it's also fun and games; it's about schmoozing, about accommodations, visiting the best venues Philly has to offer, meeting and interfacing with Philadelphia residents and representatives. All that and then some - while deliberations are made during day, merry is made during the evening. Philadelphia has a opportunity to shine like not since the Bi-Centennial - and then some. But you need to know the who, what, wheres, whens and what's happening to be a part of this - we're the new mecca and it starts long before the actual convention - so make it your business to be at the meeting on May 12, and get as much information, inspiration and communication as you possibly can.
And don't say I didn't tell you so - because I'm telling so - right now.
Bring your notes, business cards and an open mind - there's a lot to do!!!
Stay Blessed &
ECLECTICALLY BLACK

The Symposium marks the begining of many thoughtful discussions about opportunities for minority businesses as Philadelphia prepares for the Democratic National Convention in 2016. We want you to get an early start on discovering how your company can not only benefit from the Convention, but also establish long term collaborative relationships beyond July 2016.
The Symposium will feature a networking reception and entrepreneurial resource fair with businesses and economic development entities from the Philadelphia region. In addition, we will conduct a panel discussion with the following individuals:
5:00pm - Registration, Networking Reception, Resource Fair & Open Buffet
6:45pm - Welcome Remarks & Panel Discussion
8:00pm - Wrap Up
For more information contact Tiffany Belton at 215-985-3220 ext. 237 or tbelton@urbanleaguephila.org.
