Optimum Community held a taping of Meet the Leaders at Clara Barton High School in Brooklyn, featuring Senator and Rev. Dr. Cheryl Anthony from the Judah International Christian Center.
In recognition of Women’s History Month, the program included a discussion of issues surrounding women's equality. Students had the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with us, discussing questions that ranged from race relations in the community to the current state of education.

On a more somber, but no less important note, we pay homage to those women who gave their lives - or rather had their lives forcefully taken away from them because they were Black and proud.  Homage is being given in their honor at the
"Second Annual Sacred Libation Ceremony for the 150 Black Women Lynched between 1870 and 1957"
- at Congo Square - the original Black neighborhood of Philadelphia - 7th and Walnut

The ritual will take place at the designated tree near the 7th Street entrance to the park.  It will begin at 3PM sharp and will last approxiately 1 hour. A drumming for the Ancestors will follow immediately.  Please wear white or light colors. NO BLACK PLEASE!  Remember this is not an event or protest. No angry voices! It is a sacred ritual ceremony to bring love, light and healing to our martyred sisters and our communities.

If you cannot make it, please pray for them where you are by calling their names between 3-3:30PM The Ancestors want people of African descent everywhere to pour libation for them annually so that the history will be known and their stories will not be forgotten. Modupe for your support!
