Hello All:

Well this is the week of the NBA All-Star Games, and New Yorkers are getting in high gear.  And while there will be a plethora of celebrities in attendance, some have more than just a good time on their minds.  Especially the power couple of Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, who will host a fund raiser for their foundation The Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Foundation, this Thursday, February 12, and NO 8 in Manhattan.

And for those of you who are not aware of this wonderful organization, let me bring you up to date:  The Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Foundation, started over ten years ago, is an advocacy program that distributes contributions to a variety of children's and educational charitable programs, in Florida.  In addition to the foundation, Honey Shine, a mentoring program for young girls, and The Overtown Youth Center, and a high school named in his honor are ways in which the former Miami Heat NBA star is paying it forward.

Thus far they've raised over $10,000 for youth, and are currently helping over 1000 families defeat the challenges of poverty and educational problems.
