Georgia primary: Plan for rain at the polls 2020 Election Defense Fund | Campaign Legal Center Philly needs 4,000 people to work polls on Election Day. Here's how to help

O.V. Catto Voter Empowerment Initiative

The 2020 O.V. Catto Voter Empowerment Initiative is an effort to increase voter registration and Election Day turnout among people of color in Pennsylvania. The Initiative has targeted eighteen jurisdictions within sixteen counties in the Commonwealth where communities of color are underrepresented in that county’s electorate.

We assist with training and implementation of voter registration, voter education and on Election Day. We are prepared to assist in voter turnout and voter protection response activities. We provide the Logistical Support and Tactical Assistance for a coordinated statewide Voter Protection Campaign.  More volunteers are needed and welcome. Come join us!

  Philadelphia Needs Poll Workers

Poll workers are first responders for democracy. They serve a crucial role in ensuring our voting system works. Philadelphia is in critical need of more poll workers for November 3, to ensure a maximum number of polling locations. You can help make a difference this year!

There have been some confusing reports on whether this need has already been met. #PowerthePolls confirmed applicants are still needed;

Black Audiences Against Disinformation

LGC and AI for the People are collaborating to use strategic silence to reduce online engagement with the #VoteDownDemBallot hashtag, which is asking Black voters in Philly not to vote in the presidential race, an act that flipped Michigan from Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016 (yes where a white militia attempted to kidnap the governor)

What we are doing

 The week before the election we are launching the #VoteDownCOVID hashtag it is part of a wider campaign called Your Black Voice Matters, with Moveon.org and supported by- #YourVoteIsPower a campaign led by Angela Bassett and Kerry Washington and - #BlackVotersMatter and we need your help.

We have developed 4 videos that ask Black voters to #VoteDownCOVID in 16 swing states. Our question is Can the truth win the online engagement race? Is the future of truth engaging in strategic silence to drown out disinformation campaigns?

Please help #VoteDownCOVID drown out the attempt to disenfranchise Black Americans through online voter suppression?
