C: This evening's ZOOM meeting has to focus on developing the program for our kick off on Friday, October 16. We have to develop the program for our Program - That means deciding what our topic/theme is, who our speakers are going to be, making sure they will be part of the program, and who will or will not be speaking. This is seriously the last chance we get at this. Donations for MobileVoters PA, as well as funds we raise for Biden/Harris depend on this. We have postponed this twice - so this time we have to make it happen, because Pat Duncan will develop the invite that will go out all over the nation - BlackWomen 4 Biden participants in the various states will be tuning in and focusing on Philly/Pennsylvania. There will be a donate button that people can use while we are on the Zoom.
Each of us should bring 5 or more names of people associates, individuals that you feel would be good for our kick off. Please have in mind an issue or issues that are important to Black Philadelphians education, housing, health, employment, gentrification, quality of life, or whatever else comes to mind.
The people we invite or recommend could be an elected official, a law enforcement person, an educator, a public speaker, a celebrity, a community activist. Our person doesn't necessarily have to be from Philly - they could also be a national figure or an entertainer who's conscious. We should have at least 4 to 7 speakers - and don't overlook yourselves. I am totally aware that we have some dynamic, talented, accomplished sisters among us.
I have already invited Anthony McGlawn, and he has agreed (radio show host).
I am attaching a copy of the link to the Black Women For Biden's Alabama Affiliate invite below. The program just happened this past Sunday, and it was Awesome!!! We, in Philly, have to make ours as compelling!! Their moderators were two radio personalities - they managed to shag the great Ben Crump as a guest speaker, and a US senator from Alabama - perhaps their only Democrat in the Senate.
Let's get creative - we have two of the greatest producers on the planet: Tamara Staley and Taleah Taylor - they can help us pull this together beautifully - but we also have to be on point. If any of you want to be on the panel (Vanessa) please make sure you let us know. Philly has more talent per square inch!
We also have to start contacting the media, putting together press releases, and reaching out our folks - churches, sororities, fraternities, civic orgs to be on the ZOOM PANEL
