Wednesday: Town Hall on Equity & Civil Rights

I invite you to join me on Facebook Live this Wednesday, July 15 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a town hall on equity and civil rights! I’ll discuss my recent legislative efforts to create a fairer, more equitable society and I’ll be joined by officials from two agencies that investigate incidents of possible discrimination, who will be able to answer some of your questions:
  • Rue Landau, executive director, Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations
  • Chad Dion Lassiter, executive director, Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission
Here’s one example of a topic that’s likely to come up: Pennsylvania non-discrimination law has not included LGBTQ people statewide, but the U.S. Supreme Court recently issued a landmark ruling about LGBTQ non-discrimination.
You can click this link to RSVP or watch live on Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.
Opposing ICE rule on international students
I am continuing my opposition to a new rule from ICE that I believe would be bad for international students and for communities like Philadelphia that are home to many universities. I joined this letter with more than 130 House Democratic colleagues. I have heard from many constituents about this new rule and I want you to know where I stand.
Working to help small businesses recover
