Hello All:
If you are in or around, or planning to be in Los Angeles this Sunday, July 21, make it your business to attend this wonderful event, honoring one of my favorite people on the planet: Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. In addition to being a Soror - Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she is probably one of the busiest, and more effective leaders today.
I gave you a tidbit of her bio below - some of the many reasons she's being honored this week end. She was also recently honored in Philadelphia, PA during the Juneteenth celebrations, and is constantly in demand.
I only recently met Dr. Williams two years ago, when I was honored to cover the National Congress of Black Women's Award Brunch in D.C. during the Congressional Black Congress. She's elegant, eloquent, and eclectic - something I have a great reverence for. If that wasn't enough, I learned we had a mutual friend in the personage of brother/friend Dick Gregory - and collaborated with him on many projects - which deepened my already growing respect and admiration for her.
Her weekly Radio Broadcast of WPFW.FM/DC, every Wednesday morning at 10:00AM EST, is always full of information of relevance to Black people in general, Black women in particular. She is an activist and advocate for Black people and uses her energy to enhance and inform our culture and our people.
The other awesome trait about Dr. Williams is that she is down to earth and congenial, easy to talk to. So, when you attend the Luncheon, which by the way, if for a worthy cause, you will totally enjoy her personable conversational style.
My congratulations to Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. for the honor being bestowed on her, has earned it and more than deserves it.
Dr. E. Faye Williams, Esq. will be honored in legendary Marina del Rey, CA, at the annual benefit luncheon co-hosted by SILK (Sisters Involved In Linking Knowledge) and the Regalettes to raise funds for under served African American girls in the Greater Los Angeles and surrounding communities, on Sunday, July 21, from 12:00 pm. -3:00 pm.
