I am so pissed off I could spit bullets!! The 99% white 1%negro, 60% female 100% ignorant jury found Pennsylvania State Representative Vanessa Lowery Brown guilty of all charges of "bribery" in the amount of approximately $4,000 - after the preponderance of information showed that she was set up, that it was a conspiracy, that the information was fabricated, doctored, altered, and bogus - what the sam hill???!!! It was clear from the composition of the jury that they were not a jury of her peers.
I am more than a little tired of good people being railroaded by criminals, with impunity. Her defense attorneys, a team of 4 white males, appear to have their act together, but I would have been much more confident if the great Michael Coard had been handling her case; or Billy Murphy.

She just called me to tell me of the verdict, before it got blown out of proportions in the media. There was a sadness, and sound of inevitability in her tone. In fact, when she first spoke, I thought she said acquitted of all charges - and had actually begun to say halleluiah - In my mind there could have only been one outcome.
She had to repeat it to me again, because there was just no way in my head there could be anything else. But I get it - the idea is to take the most effective and caring of our leaders, nullify and destroy them, so that they have no impact on the kind of crap their opponents are trying to inveigh against us.
I am so clear that this is a conspiracy - as clear as I am that she was deliberately T-boned in a car accident when a truck hit her on the driver's side, on Saturday, October 20, just two days prior to the beginning of this railroad trial. The damage was so severe that she had to be pulled out by the jaws of life. She didn't want to make it known because she thought it would be looked upon as trying to influence the jury. I think it was an attempted hit to keep her from testifying. It's information that should have been used, so the jury could see that she was under threat.
The whole case could have been thrown out. At least it should have been.

According to Vanessa, her sentencing is on November 28. We must be there to support her.
I have asked her whether there will be an appeal, but she has not had an opportunity to meet with her legal team.
Initially, it was stated that she had filed two financial reports in 2011 - the first one did not include the funds she received in the amount of over $5,000; however she submitted an amended financial report which fully disclosed the amount.

The new charge relates to how Brown filed two financial disclosure statements for 2011, Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo said in an interview Friday. The first statement did not disclosure $5,005 worth of gifts, but the second one did, he said. Under Pennsylvania law, he said, public officials can be charged with making false claims by filing two separate reports because one of them must be fake."
REALLY??? IT CAN'T BE AN AMENDED, OR CORRECTED STATEMENT - IT CAN'T BE AN ERROR - IT HAS TO BE FAKE?? AND IF THE SECOND REPORT CORRECTED THE FIRST REPORT, WHY WAS IT NOT THEN ACCORDINGLY FILED AND THE PREVIOUS ONE DISCARDED, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO MAKE IT INTO A DELIBERATE FILING OF FALSE INFORMATION?
It appears that the fix was in from the start- Vanessa refused to roll over and play dead because it was clear that it was a set up. The bogus tapes that had been doctored and were played in court, were obviously altered - having had more than enough time to really build up a stack of bogus evidence - was my first clue that this was conspiratorial.

Again, I am disgusted with the injustice that has been visited upon this sister. I should think that her fellow elected officials would be rallying around her and helping her get this egregious travesty overturned. If not, then they are as much of the problem as the conspirators and con men who put her in this mess.

In addition to her responsibilities as a legislator, has been raising her 3 years old granddaughter, and still suffering from the loss of her mother, who passed three months ago. A graduate of Howard University, and legislator for just under 10 years, Ms. Brown has brought employment, housing, and educational programs to her jurisdiction of West Philadelphia.

am continuing to pray for this wonderful Sister, who has devoted her
life to serving her people. We all have a debt of gratitude for all she
has done and attempted to do - make sure you are among the ones
protesting this gross miscarriage of justice.
