Hello All: 

This is a heads up pre "Ignorauguration Day" when the Oaf is scheduled to take the Oath of Office - thereby pushing the US closer to the brink of fascism -

The following information was sent to me via several friends.  I had already posted something similar on FACEBOOK, but am also sharing it here on GDW/ECLECTICALLY BLACK NEWS:

ATTENTION! HELPFUL INFORMATION!
There's a lot of talk about people NOT watching the inauguration. The Trumpenstein monster will be checking his ratings, and many may not know the way that the tv shows are rated. 
To keep his rating LOW, you must have your television turned ON, but NOT tuned into any channel showing ANY inauguration coverage.

If you don't turn your tv on, his ratings will show higher because of the percentage of sets tuned in. So set up all your televisions to the geographic channel or cooking channel! Anything that is not covering the inauguration, basically!

- Television must be on, but NOT tuned into channels covering the inauguration .

Please share this information! Copy and paste and spread the word.

The event and highlights will be repeated, but we plan to affect the ratings of the live streaming.

This is certainly necessary,  but we need to do more!!!  As I stated, I posted something similar to this message  on Facebook a few days ago .

The challenge is to get it to the folks who don't have access to this info - i.e. the folks in the street who don't know this.  

How do we do that?

We do fliers

We do leaflets

WE do churches

Right?

Get the word out so that they are following up as well - radio! artists!!  Go to McDonalds and other Fastfood places - where ever we find our other brothers and sisters.  Whomever else you are in contact with - 

MAKE IT VIRAL BLACK FOLKS!!! 

As I said on Facebook - I'm watching a Tom & Jerry Cartoon Marathon, followed by the Disney Channel on the 20th of January.

All of you who can, please blast this info out via blasts, twitter, Facebook, email contacts, phone trees, etc.  

We need to make this viral.  

Parents and grand parents of tech-savvy younger kids, please get them involved in getting it out to friends and peers - make it work.

Of course, you don't have to watch cartoons, like me - you can select something else - like BET, CENTRIC -  or one of the other Black oriented TV channels - do a marathon of Black programming for the entire day, starting with the night before and running through to the following day.  Or, if you're not going to be home that day, program your TV to be on and tuned to any show that does not cover the Ignorauguration.

I frankly don't care about T-Rump's love for the ratings.  I'm much more concerned about whether or not we can bring about solidarity among ourselves to strategically do things together that will affect our own world positively.  

So let's do this and keep track, to the extent possible, of how many of us across the board followed through.  

This is good practice for what we will have to begin doing in earnest during the hours, days, weeks, months and years ahead as we deal with the impending negativity and hostility that will be part and parcel of this new regime.  

We have to build our muscles and strength - not only to resist, but to build and develop and grow our own communities - schools - health programs - economic systems.  And, like any muscle in the human body, it starts with baby steps - and each new effort builds more and more muscle, discipline and success.  It might not feel right at first, but with practice, it becomes more and more natural. (While you're at it, put yourself on a new diet - one that has less and less information about T-rump, and more and more information about building and developing Black communities, unity in the community, and solidarity - if you start now, you will find that you will have completely transformed yourself in less time than you thought possible!!)

This is not about politics - folks, this is about survival and success - this is not just about voting, it's about making sure that we are not marginalized - and that the clock does not get rolled back to the 50s.  The only one who can save us is ourselves - and that comes from our sticking together.  

So maybe we can just do a little signal like posting on Facebook, Twitter, or via emali these three letters -

"NWT" (not watching T-Rump) as a signal that you are not tuning in to the Ignorauguration on the 20th.
