GOOD FOR WHAT AILS YOU IN BROOKLYN: Arena Wellness Center

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

With so much controversy over various designer ailments, and just as many designer cures in the world, it's good to know that there is a place in Brooklyn that is on the cutting edge of health and wellness, right in the heart of Brooklyn.  And that's just what Arena Wellness Center offers you.

Founded by Kimathi Card, the center opened its doors at a time when so many are bombarded by over the counter medications that don't work, unnecessary surgeries, and questionable medical protocols.  The very atmosphere speaks of balance from the moment you enter - and regardless of your challenges - slipped disk, swollen ankles, misalignment, vertigo, you're bound to leave a lot better than when you entered.

Dr. Brandis Peeples, Chiropractor, not only is proficient in correcting your bone structure, she's knowledgeable about nutrients and supplements as well.  Acupuncture is also aided with a side of emotional well being.  And massage therapy with spiritual philosophy.

Wholistic is the theme of the day.  Conveniently located at 930 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, it's a quick call for an appointment, and be prepared to put your body and your worries into expert hands.   +1 (718) 230 3301

His goal is to share what he has learned and to guide clients through the process of designing individualized wellness plans.

Backstory

While growing up, Kimathi Card faced many challenges, including dyslexia, loss of smell (at the age of 15), and hearing problems. As a teenager, his response was turning to drugs and partying. Card found himself battling multiple addictions after engaging in decades of negative behaviors. After suffering a heart attack at age 35, he realized changes had to be made; his health had to be turned around. Card dedicated himself to improving his own health. He decided thereafter to help others by following his passion for bodywork, health, and wellness.

During his holistic training and education, Kimathi discovered both the true root of his potential and the healing power of the body. He studied Qi Gong, which allows individuals to move negative energy out of the body for the sake of healing. Through additional resources, including acupuncture and meditation, he was able to release misaligned patterns, feelings and actions. Card has since found peace and discovered healthier roads to happiness – approaches which he applies to his daily life.

Per, Kimathi Card, "Arena Wellness Center is a gifted-hands facility wherein a holistic approach to treatment and healing are provided through Qi Gong Massage, Acupuncture and Chiropractic care. We aim to promote healing in order to encourage both the body and the mind to experience a new way of feeling."

arena_welcomeFull treatment by expert practitioners at Arena Wellness Center includes non-invasive evaluations and hands-on healing techniques that covering all major structures of the body:

1. Massage Therapy techniques manipulate soft tissue, which frees constriction in the body and promotes improved mental clarity from improved circulation. It provides immediate stress reduction and improves overall well-Being.

2. Acupressure & Acupuncture stimulate many organ functions by correcting imbalances in blood, endocrine, and exocrine circulation and balances the body’s energy or “Qi” through the integumentary, musculoskeletal, and nervous systems.

3. Chiropractic care addresses the skeletal structure by aligning the spine in such a way that allows the nerves and arteries to flow unimpeded.

This “1/2/3 approach” will help patients determine what their health needs are so we can assign the best treatment strategies for each patient.

With a combined 30 years of professional experience, developing effective treatments for the most common and chief complaints is brought to an art form by the practitioners at Arena Wellness Center.

Overall, our practitioners aim to increase individual productivity and provide life-affirming vibrancy by educating clients on the root causes of their ailments. With regard to high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and stress, their combined knowledge and expertise is a refreshing departure from being told that “nothing is wrong with you.” The universal idea is for clients to have a better sense of the connection of the mind, body, and spirit through the use of holistic treatment strategies.

The traditional Western approach to healthcare does not take the emotional state of the patient into consideration. It does not inform patients that they actually have a chance to heal themselves – minus the blockages and constrictions of stress. If the emotions are not in balance, health will not be in balance.

The traditional Western approach to healing also does not explain the healing process, itself. For example, a fallen arch affects overall posture and can harm seemingly unrelated areas, such as the neck, and inhibit movement of air. If one’s breathing is not correct, then healing cannot occur.

Through consistent and committed treatment with practitioners, Arena Wellness clients will eventually come to understand the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit.
