There's a lot going on this week end, so I'll be brief - or at least I'll try to be. Walter Edwards, one of my personal heroes, and co-founder of the Harlem Business Alliance is opening a new venue called MIST, which stands for My Image Studios. Read the info below, and mark your calendar for the grand opening this Saturday, April 27. Hope to see you there -
Harlem Business Alliance Chair, Walter J. Edwards, would like to tell you about My Image Studios (MIST),
a new venture recently opened at 46 West 116th Street. Mr. Edwards is
asking for our support of this new community business. As most of you
know, Mr. Edwards has always valued and has been committed to preserving
the culture and the right to equitable treatment for Harlem's long term
stakeholders. He has always stood with us, and now he is asking us to
stand with him. This new venture, MIST includes Harvist Harlem restaurant
and three studios screening independent and studio film by and/or about
the African and Latino Diaspora. MIST is also presenting live
performances including music, comedy, spoken word and community
discussion about the issues that are important to Harlem. Mr. Edwards is
extending this invitation to dine with a discount for HBA members and
friends. He also asks that you to visit the MIST website for more

I didn't write the foregoing piece, but I wholeheartedly agree with it all. Rhonda has so much soul wrapped up in wisdom, laced in sensuality, and still contained in one very well put together little woman/sister/friend. She's one of my favorite people on the planet because she is her own person. Now that she's a Mom, you may also be interested to know that she's penned a book on motherhood that may be constructive and instructive to all parents seeking to give their children the best in upbringing entitled "Raising America.
