For those of you who are not familiar with Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, I'm providing an overview below:

Reinstate Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao As AU Permanent Representative to the USA
Recently, a letter from the African Union (AU) Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, dated October 7, 2019 unceremoniously relieved Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao of her duties as the African Union Permanent Representative to the USA with effective November 1, 2019. Dr. Chihombori-Quao has served in this position for only two years and she still has one year left in her tenure.
By this petition, we implore all Africans, the African Diaspora community in the United States and friends of Africa to hereby express our displeasure with the callous manner in which Dr. Chihombori-Quao was dismissed with ignominy, and request that she be reinstated.
Who is Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao?
Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao is a medical doctor and activist. She is a public speaker, educator, diplomat, founder of medical clinics, and an entrepreneur. She is a first generation immigrant to the United States from Zimbabwe. She is the African Union representative to the US. She was appointed in 2017. She holds a bachelor's degree in General Chemistry, a master's degree in organic chemistry, and a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Chihombori-Quao was a family medicine specialist in Tennessee. She practiced medicine for 29 years in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.”
It is quite noteworthy that it took Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao almost a year to decide to accept this leadership role, and when she did, she executed it very effectively and dynamically.
Dr. Chihombori-Quao is outspoken about the implications of the Berlin Conference that took place in Berlin, Germany in 1885. She lectures about the outcome of the divisions on the continent of Africa that were made. She sees these divisions as a cause of some of Africa's problems that are still in effect today. She seeks to reunite African states, and Africans in the Diaspora.”
Here is one of her famous speeches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOTEs2UHego

We Need Your Support and Signature.
We need your support in encouraging all African presidents and leaders to take action and reinstate Ambassador to her position. Africans and all stakeholders in the United States and indeed worldwide are appalled by African Union’s treatment of this highly-regarded diplomat recruited from the African Diaspora. We can speak authoritatively that she was neither called to order by the African Union Commission nor summoned for disciplinary action before the letter of summary dismissal from her duties was handed to her just as she was on her way for official assignment.
In an era that places emphasis on the need to encourage women participation in governance, treating one of the most highly educated, highly progressive and highly engaging African female diplomats this way is not only distasteful but casts doubts regarding African readiness to confront its developmental challenges. The African Diaspora community in the United States who have had the privilege of building strong rapport and alliances with Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao are shocked with this development. At various fora, Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao spares no time in sensitizing the African Diaspora on the tasks ahead and their role in uplifting the continent.
In her short two years in office, Dr. Chihombori-Quao has persistently placed Africa in the center-stage of global discourses, seizing on every opportunity in marketing the continent to attract investment from both the African Diaspora and the international community. Her exemplary work on behalf of Africa in the United States is simply unassailable. We have long noted that for Africa to realistically detach itself from the shackles of neocolonialism or untie itself from the apron-strings of its former colonial powers, independence of policy-making and actions are paramount. Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao comes from that school of thought.
We demand for her reinstatement as well as a formal letter of apology from the African Union Commission. It is important to note that the entire African Diaspora community has a stake in this matter, and how the African Union Commission decides to address it will determine its future relationship with the African Diaspora, especially in an environment that recognizes the vital role of the diaspora in African development.
Note:  This letter was initially distributed to garner petition signers.  Since the African Diaspora Congress's convention in Dallas, TX, there has been a move toward nation building - and educating Africans on their power and right to autnomy.

GDW EMERGENCY ALERT: LINCOLN UNIVERSITY ALUMNI - DID YOU MAKE YOUR $20.00 CONTRIBUTION YET? NOVEMBER 30 IS THE DEADLINE!

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

Hello All:

This is a last minute message to all my Lincoln University Alumni
Before you sit go rushing out to make those last minute purchases for Thanksgiving Dinner; Before you get on the flight to join your family/friends somewhere in the US or otherwise for the holidays; before you go hanging out and partying with friends - DID YOU MAKE YOUR CONTRIBUTION YET?

DID YOU ANSWER THE CALL, STAND UP TO THE CHALLENGE, GIVE BACK TO YOUR ALMA MATER LINCOLN UNIVERSITY?

OSEI RUBIE ISSUED AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE AT LEAST 250 LINCOLNIANS CONTRIBUTE $20.00 EACH, WHICH HE WOULD MATCH, TO HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS LOOKING TO ATTEND.

THE DEADLINE IS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30.
NOW MY QUESTION IS:  DID YOU CHIP IN YOUR $20.00?????
IF NOT, WHY NOT?
IF NOT, WHEN,

I'm officially putting you on blast - this is not going to be just enclosed within the privacy of our personal communication.  As the first HBCU, with much to be proud of, it would be a shame to say that we couldn't find 250 Lincoln Alumni out of the 6,000 who reside in Philadelphia, PA alone, or those who live in New York, DC, Baltimore, Delaware, Virginia, California, Chicago, Ohio, Boston, etc. to meet and/or exceed this worthy goal.

You can use Cash App, Check, Money Order, Western Unioin, MoneyGram, or deliver it in person - but do not allow 11:59PM November 30 to come without your $20.00

With so many HBCUs facing financial challenges, and closing because of lack of funding/support, we cannot rely on outsiders, or chance funding to make the difference.  It's our Alma Mater - and Dear Lincoln needs us to do our part.

Thank you for your help.

Also, thanks to Osei Rubie for his generosity.

Stay Blessed &

CBC Asking you to make the switch to get rid of Mitch - Pitch In!!

By Gloria Dulan-Wilson

Hello All:

I just received this communique from the CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS (CBC) - and I realized that, while so many are focusing on the impeachment proceedings and the debates, we are losing focus on some other key issues - such as getting rid of Mitch McConnell.

Have you noticed that he's been unusually quiet during the past few weeks, now that T-rump has been under a microscope?

He's hoping that he won't be called in, and that nobody notices his seat is up for grabs in the upcoming 2020 election.

We are fond of using the aphorism:  STAY WOKE!  Which is another way of saying we have to have 2020 vision - and see clearly what our role and responsibilities are - regardless of who emerges victorious as president, we have to decimate the repuglycons in the Senate and House of Representatives.

I'm sharing a copy of a solicitation for support from the DNC - do not ignore it!! Contribute and share and pass it on.  We have to be as vigilant in between elections as we are during them.

This letter was sent to me, but I'm sharing it with you - and I expect you to do the same by responding to info@cbcpac.org - and let them know that you're in and committed.

Stay Blessed &

REMEMBER >> Republicans just lost a MAJOR election in Kentucky.

And experts say that this puts Democrats at an advantage in 2O2O.

But McConnell's mega-rich conservative donors won’t let that slide.

They’ll stop at nothing to CRUSH our chances of winning.

So we can’t wait until 2O2O to act. We need you with us in the fight to take back the Senate, GLORIA. And that starts with defeating McConnell!
